Our curriculum focuses on learning of knowledge, skills and attitudes and these are best achieved through the medium of art and play.
Conceptual Learning
We offer diversified learning environment and use variety of activities to offer meaningful and engaging learning environment. Gardening, clay work, dramatics, symbolic play, puppetry, music and movements, art and craft, physical exercises, field trips and presentations form integral part of learning at this stage.
Mastery Learning
Students must demonstrate a high level of success on tests, typically at about the 80% level, before progressing to new content. Those who do not reach the required level are provided with additional tuition, peer support, small group discussions, or homework so that they can reach the expected level.
Technology Enabled
At RDGV we focus on moving beyond computer literacy and ICT aided learning to initiate teachers to interpret and adapt ICT for achieving wider aims of education. We constantly innovate and explore the possibility of using technology as a tool for organization, communication, research, and problem solving.

Preprimary School
“No one is born fully-formed: it is through self-experience in the world that we become what we are.”
― Paulo Freire
Our preschool comprises of a Play Group (PG), a Lower Kindergarten Group (LKG) and a Upper Kindergarten Group (UKG) and have children ranging from 2½ to 5 years. These are the significant years in children’s life where for the first time they enter a new environment away from their families and encounter varied new experiences. These early years lay foundation for the holistic development of their personality. This is the time during which any sort of deprivation in terms of language, health, care and learning can have serious impact on children’s development. Therefore, it is important for teachers and parents to offer different kinds of challenges in a supportive, caring and secure learning environment along with proper health care through appropriate family and community care practices.
In our preprimary groups we are committed to offer the best environment for holistic development of children and prepare them for smooth entry in a primary school. Our preschool is a stress free zone, full of fun and frolic and children view it as their extended home. We work closely with the community through PARAS INDIA NGO with the aim of engaging community in education of a child and offer support to the families for ensuring proper care and education of their children.
CURRICULUM
We have a comprehensive curriculum for preprimary which focuses on– physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of children. Children during the early years focus on developing individual autonomy and want greater control over what they do and how they do. They assert control and power over the environment by taking initiatives, planning activities and facing challenges. They are emotionally sensitive and learn to develop trust. The curriculum is framed keeping in view the needs, abilities and interests of children of this age group and is based on the trajectories of learning and development in various domains. We have kept it flexible enough to be responsive to the social, cultural, economic and linguistic context of a child.
Child’s first language is the best medium of instruction for teaching new things. At the same time this is a critical period for learning new languages in stress free environment through listening and speaking. We make good use of the child’s home language for communicating to him/her about the world and at the same time offer exposure to English.
PEDAGOGY
Our curriculum focuses on learning of knowledge, skills and attitudes and these are best achieved through the medium of art and play. Learning of mathematics and languages is developed through integrated themes relevant to the children of the particular group. We offer diversified learning environment and use variety of activities to offer meaningful and engaging learning environment. Gardening, clay work, dramatics, symbolic play, puppetry, music and movements, art and craft, physical exercises, field trips and presentations form integral part of learning at this stage. For all these activities we try to maintain balance between guided and unguided work to develop sense of recognition and independence in children.
Elementary School
Classes 1 to 8 form part of our Elementary School. This is the time when children’s orientation to formal instructions in different school subjects begin. During this time children learn through experiential learning and by the end of elementary years step towards logical and abstract thinking. They can place sound arguments and develop scientific temper provided they receive relevant experiences and exposure to different forms of understanding. We implement carefully planned curriculum and culturally responsive pedagogy to meet the needs and requirements for this stage. Our committed team of educationists and subject experts constantly strive to demonstrate improvement in children’s writing skills and develop love for lifelong learning.
CURRICULUM
We follow NCERT curriculum in our Elementary Classes. We make all possible attempts to realize the guiding principles stated in NCF, 2005 of connecting knowledge to life outside the school, ensuring that learning shifts from rote methods, and enriching curriculum so that it goes beyond textbooks. We ensure that learning during the elementary years is significant for our learners and we do that by offering them exposure to different forms of understanding in a meaningful way.
For most of our learners English is the language which they come across only in the school. However, they demonstrate great zeal in learning English and aspire to become proficient in it. English is the language of empowerment for them through which they get access to the world beyond their immediate environment and to the world literature on science, mathematics, technology, humanities, classics etc. We offer our children rich language environment for reading, writing and speaking of English. Our aim is to develop facility with this language not just for everyday communication but to develop lifelong love for reading and writing of it.
Mathematics during elementary years is an important tool to think, reason and handle abstractions. We offer experiential based mathematics education through hands on activities. We focus on conceptual clarity and deeper understanding of basic concepts of mathematics during elementary years. This helps in building strong foundation for learning higher mathematics in the senior school and to develop love for the subject.
Children are endowed with natural curiosity and wonderment for the things they observe and experience. Science teachers need to appreciate this and built on it. Teaching of science at RDGV School follows an inquiry based approach whereby children are encouraged to examine and analyze their everyday experiences. Children are encouraged to ask questions and through scientific enquiry find reasonable answers and explanations.
Teaching of social sciences acts as an important medium to draw upon the experiences of the children, their communities and their natural curiosities. This proves to be an important area to build ideas and concepts about their physical and social world and raise questions related to gender justice, marginalization, communities and minorities’ sensibilities, importance of knowing history and many more. This is the important subject area which can play an important role in forming a world view and understanding different perspectives and their underpinnings.
The teaching of Hindi is an important area of study in our school. As Hindi is not just a language to be learnt in the language classroom but is also a medium for learning all other subject areas therefore ensuring optimal learning in this subject area becomes important. We built from the child’s use of dialect and create language rich environment for learning Hindi. It remains the compulsory subject until Class 12.
PEDAGOGY
During the Elementary years it is important for us to create a safe environment for children’s learning and draw from their backgrounds and experiences. Our classes make flexible use of whole-class, group and pair work. Children are encouraged to question and search for their answers. We lay special emphasis on learning of Languages- English & Hindi. Children in their mathematics and science classrooms make use of hands on material for learning and engage in explorations and discoveries through varied activities and project work.
Senior School
In senior school we follow UP Board syllabus. Our senior school comprises of classes from 9 to 12. This is the time of rapid physical, mental and emotional growth. During this time, adolescents need to develop a repertoire of life skills that includes among others, logical thinking, reasoning in abstraction, problem solving skills, flexibility, open mindedness and creativity. Our schooling at this level focuses on enabling learners in becoming productive and responsible individuals who are well equipped for life and work and can keep up with the demands of our technology based knowledge society. It is a constant challenge to impart education in a holistic way with the focus on knowledge, skills and attitudes and evolve individuals who are able to deal with conflicts and change, who are creators of knowledge and not just meek recipients.
Well Qualified Teachers
Who continuously challenge what they know and improve everyday
